Buffalo, NY –
Univera Healthcare has partnered with Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy to launch the Delaware Park Tree Scavenger Hunt: TREEventure. The end goal of this project is to encourage people to head out to the park, to get a good walk in, to connect with nature (especially trees!), and to get healthy. And what better way to tackle these goals, than with a scavenger hunt?
This brand new, self-guided scavenger hunt around Delaware Park will help you learn about the unique trees in our area. For more information or to view the digital map, visit https://www.bfloparks.org/parks/delaware-park/delawareparktrees/
“We are proud to partner with Univera Healthcare in offering this new opportunity to explore and learn more about the special features of the trees in Delaware Park. Staying active in a safe, socially distant way is important, especially as we move into the fall season and this TREE-venture is a great option for everyone,” said Stephanie Crockatt, executive director, Buffalo Olmsted Parks Conservancy.
According to a 2013-2014 fact sheet issued by Univera, over 60% of adults in our region are classified as overweight, or obese.
“More than ever, it is important for us to find ways to safely go outside and to maintain regular physical activity. Walking is a great way for anyone to achieve that goal,” said Steven Dina, MD, medical director, Univera Healthcare.
