Univera Healthcare and WellBe Senior Medical collaborate to bring in-home care to those in need
September 6, 2024
Univera Healthcare is teaming up with WellBe Senior Medical, an independent company, to help some of our Medicare Advantage members. This program will bring care right to the homes of members who need it the most. These members often have several health issues, take many medicines, and visit the emergency room or hospital a lot.
“This group includes some of our most at-risk members who need good, organized, and easy care,” says Univera Healthcare President Art Wingerter. About 30,000 members can use this service.
WellBe is a company that helps older adults with many health problems. Members who qualify will get care at home, help with their medicines, and urgent care services anytime they need it.
“WellBe works closely with the members’ regular doctors and caregivers,” explains Wingerter. WellBe has a team that includes social workers, mental health specialists, pharmacists, and urgent care available 24/7.
Dr. Jeffrey Kang, the founder of WellBe, says, “At WellBe, we think everyone should have good health care, and we’re happy that Univera Healthcare agrees.” They will offer information and support for planning care, social needs, and managing complex health issues.
The goal of this partnership is to make health care better, lower costs, and provide a great experience for members. Wingerter adds, “Working with WellBe helps us achieve our mission of helping people in our communities live healthier and safer lives with good, affordable health care.”
